Cynthia Lily Hicks, (nee Gerelus), beloved mother and devoted wife of Washington Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15 th, 2024, surrounded by her loving sons. She was 72.
Born on June 27 th, 1952, Cynthia dedicated her life to her family, raising her two sons, Ryan and Zachary, with unwavering love and commitment. She was a remarkable mother who always put her children first, ensuring they had the support and encouragement they needed to succeed in life. Her selflessness and nurturing spirit defined her life, as she created a warm and loving home filled with laughter, support, and love.
Cynthia was married to John Hicks, with whom she shared a deep bond and partnership built on love. Professionally, Cynthia worked in the medical field as an X-ray technician, where her compassion and dedication shone through in her patient care; however, it was her role within her home that brought her the most fulfillment. Her commitment to her family was unwavering and she always prioritized their needs above her own.
Family was the cornerstone of Cynthia’s life, and she created countless cherished memories throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by her sons, husband, and all who knew and loved her.

Cynthia is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, John, and their two sons, Ryan and Zachary Hicks. Treasured sister of Beverly Stoltzfus (Nevin) and Brenda Muller. Loving aunt to Jennifer Holland and Jaime Stiles. Doting nanny to her beloved grand-fur-daughter, Lily, and many other cousins and friends. Cynthia is predeceased by her parents, Peter and Lily Gerelus.

Friends and family are invited to The United Methodist Church of Haddonfield; 29 Warwick Road, Haddonfield, New Jersey, where a visitation will be held from 10:00 -11:00 a.m., immediately followed by her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 30 th, 2024. Interment will take place at Harleigh Cemetery, 1640 Haddon Ave, Camden, New Jersey.
