Elizabeth A. King
Elizabeth A. King, 90, of Haddon Heights, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1st 2024.
Elizabeth was born in Audubon, New Jersey to her parents: Robert and Jennie King on April 7th, 1934. Growing up, “Liz” was a tremendous athlete: excelling in basketball, baseball and hockey, and eventually garnered an athletic scholarship for college. She graduated from Audubon High school and went on to work for Penn Mutual Insurance in Philadelphia for forty years. She then enjoyed a seventeen year career as a beloved crossing guard for Saint Rose of Lima Catholic School in Haddon Heights, New Jersey. Elizabeth was so loved by the student and staff that when she retired from this position, action news did a wonderful story celebrating her!
Elizabeth was very active at; St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Haddon Heights and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. She loved watching her team play, and was quite impressive when it came to baseball stats. She loved and adored her family as much as she loved animals, especially her dog, Molly. She was a loving and caring sister, Aunt and friend. Elizabeth will forever be remembered and cherished.
Elizabeth is survived by her sister in law, Peggy, her nieces ;Cynthia Sporer (Eric), Karen Glatz, and nephew Richard King, and her very best friend, Mary N. Snow. Elizabeth is predeceased by her siblings; Richard King Sr. and Jane Keegan, and by her parents; Robert and Jennie King. She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Elizabeth’s visitation at the DuBois Funeral Home, 700 South White Horse Pike, Audubon, New Jersey, 08106 on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Her funeral service will follow at 10:30.
