Karen Dawn Shook
Karen Dawn Shook passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. She was 60.
Karen was a very loving, caring woman. She enjoyed helping others in need, and was a total “people person”. She was the kind of woman to give you the shirt off her own back if you needed it, she especially loved caring for the elderly and would devote her own time to cleaning their homes, and grocery shopping for them. Karen was blessed with a beautiful voice and grew up singing the classics of Elvis and Patsy Kline, along with building her repertoire of all the gospel standards. As a young woman she pursued a career in music, recording demo tracks and sending them to major labels. She loved her church and would often sing Amazing Grace and other church hymns at their request. She was a wonderful mother, sister and friend. She devoted her life to her family and her faith, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Karen is survived by her beloved daughter, Hannah Shook (Chris). Treasured sister of Sherrie Halvorsen, and a caring friend to many. Karen was predeceased by her parents; Harold and Elizabeth Halvorsen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday May 8th 2024, from 10-11:00 am at the Creek Road Bible Church, 328 Creek Road, Bellmawr, New Jersey, 08031. Funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Bethel Methodist Cemetery; 481 Delsea Drive, Hurfville, New Jersey, 08080.
