Alice M. Whalen

On May 15, 2022, Alice M. Whalen (nee Carey), age 83, of Haddonfield, NJ, passed away surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Tom and Alice Carey and beloved husband, Thomas A. Whalen Jr.  She was the devoted mother of Kelly Ann Whalen, Thomas A. Whalen 3rd, and Brigid Visco.  She was also the loving sister of John Carey (Jean). Alice was survived by six grandchildren: Meghan Stehel (Christopher Hernandez), Shannon Whalen (Daniel McNeill), Morgan Visco, Thomas Whalen 4th, Matthew Whalen Houseman, and Nicholas Visco 3rd.  She was also the great grandmother of Nash McNeill, and Savannah Hernandez.  Alice was predeceased by four siblings: Thomas Carey, Joseph Carey, William Carey (Judith), and Maryanne Bedesem.

Alice was happiest when she spent time surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They always put a smile on her face and were truly her sunshines.  She was always the “go to person” for good advice in the family.  Alice had a deep admiration for animals, especially for her dog, Rocky.  Her favorite thing to do in her spare time was playing solitaire and doing crossword puzzles.  She had a huge heart that never stopped giving and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:00 Am at the DuBois Funeral Home, 700 South White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare Association, 509 Centennial Blvd. Voorhees, NJ 08043.  Funeral arrangements under the direction of DuBois Funeral Home.  Condolences and memories may be shared at DuboisFuneralHome.
