Robert C. Hozey

Robert C. Hozey of Washington Twp., NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday February 23rd, 2024, with his loving family at his side. He was 96.

Bob was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, church, and community. He was a devoted and nurturing father, a doting grandfather, a cherished Uncle, and a steadfast friend. His heart’s delight was found in his family, particularly the tender moments spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Born to Walter and Mabel (née Glaser) on July 11th, 1927, in Camden New Jersey, where he lived with his siblings; brothers Walter, Paul, G. Harold and their sister Catherine.  After graduating High school, Robert joined the Coast Guard and served his country proudly during World War II. After returning home from the war, Robert met the love of his life, Anna, at church; the couple married in June of 1952 and raised five children together.

Bob was an avid life-long Phillies fan, and loved spending time down the shore with his family. He loved all things involving water; whether it was the ocean or a pool, Bob was in the water! He also enjoyed working in his yard and tending to his tomatoes. Bob spent many years as a Deacon at the Haddon Heights Baptist Church and served on their missionary committee. He will forever be remembered and deeply missed.

He was the beloved husband of 71 wonderful years to Anna Hozey (nee Connolly). Devoted father of Susan Hozey, Scott Hozey (Beth), Sandy Hozey-Hamill (Richard), Melissa Paris (Charles) and Stephen Hozey (Janet). Treasured Grandfather to eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Bob is Predeceased by his parents Walter and Mabel Hozey, and his siblings Walter, Paul, Catherine and G. Harold Hozey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bob’s memorial service on February 28th, 2024 at The Laurel Hill Bible Church, 1260 Blackwood-Clementon Rd, Laurel Springs, NJ, 08021. Visitation from 10-11:00 am, followed by his funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment: Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery, 240 N. Tuckahoe Rd. Williamstown, NJ.
