Lawrence was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.  He loved to be around his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Lawrence was born and raised in Mt. Holly, NJ.  He met the love of his life and future wife, Martha, while she was a fountain girl and he was a volunteer fireman in Masonville, NJ.  Their first date was in 1951 at a Drive-in Movie Theater, watching the film, The Lemon Drop Kid.  Martha agreed to go out on a second date with Lawrence if he promised to attend church with her.  He obliged and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  The two were married on October 17, 1953 and spent 70 years together.

Lawrence’s 35 year career was with New Jersey Bell Telephone Company where he started as a lineman and retired as a Motor Vehicle Supervisor.  He was a proud American who loved his country.  Lawrence retired after 31 years serving in the Army National Guard of New Jersey as a 1st Sergeant, Co.A 1st Bn, 114th INF, Mt. Holly, NJ.  He belonged to American Legion Post 42 and participated in the Moorestown Memorial Day Services for many years.  His hobbies as a young child included the 4H Club where he raised Rhode Island Reds.  In his later years he enjoyed working on clocks and collecting pocket watches.  For over 50 years he was very active with the Burlington County Farm Fair where his passion for antique gas engines and tractors stood out.  Lawrence was also active in Delran Junior Marksman, JAARS(Jungle Aviation and Radio Service), Boys Brigade, as well as teaching Sunday School for over 40 years at Easton Bible Church.  Lawrence was an avid photographer.  He loved capturing moments of his kids and grandkids throughout the years and was always seen in family photos with two or three cameras around his neck.

He is the beloved husband of 70 years to Martha Cauffman (nee Bertram);   devoted father of Kathy (Jeffrey), Martha Lynne (Joe), Nancy, and Nanette (Matt); treasured grandfather of Melissa, Kristen, Joseph, Heather, Scott, and Greg; loving Great Grandfather to Kathryn, Shaylan, Ava, Hanna, Liam, Graeme, and Reid; and Dear Brother to Mary Lindsey Godfrey.  He is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Miriam Cauffman.  He will be greatly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
