Loretta Simpson

Loretta H. Simpson (nee Charvat), age 92, of Voorhees, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6, 2023.  Loretta loved life, always had a great sense of humor, and doted on her two cats.  She enjoyed going to the casinos, playing the slot machines, Bingo, and most importantly, spending time with her beloved family.  Loretta loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her husband, Edward.  She fought until the end, and then gracefully left us too soon.

Loretta met the love of her life, Edward, at the Watsontown skating rink.  They corresponded through letters for three years while Edward was away in the Navy, and then married in August of 1950.  Together they enjoyed traveling and spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Loretta was the loving wife of 74 years to Edward Simpson; cherished mother of Deborah, Steven (Cindy), and Nancy (Ken); and adored grandmother of ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Winifred Charvat.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 pm at The Ashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 33 East Evesham Road, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm.  Interment will take place on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Brigadier General William C.
