Joan Ann Hazelton
Joan Ann Hazelton (nee Ervin), age 64, of Gloucester City, NJ (previously Cramer Hill, Pennsauken, NJ), passed peacefully on the early morning of June 19, 2023. Born to Joseph A. Ervin and Thelma (nee Baird) February 5, 1959. She was the wife to the late Steven M. Hazelton and then domestic partner of 26 years to the late James Barkman. She is survived by her 5 children, Diana Hazelton, Steven Hazelton Jr., Amanda Hazelton, Stephanie Hazelton-Sheppard, and Kristy Hemphill; 26 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her surviving sisters, nieces, nephews, and many more loved ones.
She was “momâ€, “mom dukesâ€, “mom-momâ€, “Joâ€, and or “yogi†to any and all who came to know her. She retired in 2006 from Mister Meats store in Pennsauken where she worked for over 20 years. She loved her co-workers and treated her customers like she would her family. She spent her retirement years embracing her freedom to do whatever she wanted to do. Joan Ann made friends every time she went outside. But mostly, she loved spending time with loved ones, baking with grandkids, doing lots of crafts, and puzzles with her music always playing. She spent her last days in her home filled with laughter, love, and light.
