Jay W. Pearson

Jay W. Pearson, 83, of Ocean City, NJ, went to heaven suddenly on Monday, August 22, 2022.  He grew up in Haddon Heights, NJ with his parents, Walter and Dorothy (Glenz) and graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1957.  He received a degree in Accounting from Drexel University then served in the Army Reserves.  Jay married Janet (Loges) in 1963 and they raised their family in Cherry Hill, NJ.  Most of his career was with Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia, PA.  He retired as Director of Utilization Review for Medicare.

Jay enjoyed music, especially Southern Gospel.  He was an accomplished pianist and played the organ at Haddon Heights Baptist Church for almost 40 years.  He loved cars, especially Mustangs, and owned several over the years.  He and Janet enjoyed spending the winter months in Sarasota, Florida where he was a member of the Sarasota Mustang Club.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Janet (Loges); son, Jerry (Jamie); daughter, Jenny Brown (James); sister, Marilyn Wenstrom; grandchildren, Kara Peiffer (Mitch), Natalie and Amber Pearson, Connor, Ian, Amanda and Jamie Brown; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Chloe Peiffer; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held privately at the convenience of the family, with interment at the Harleigh Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements under the direction of DuBois Funeral Home, 700 South White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106.  Condolences and memories may be shared at DuboisFuneralHome.
