Jean Haven Amos

Jean Haven Amos, (nee Cairns), age 83 years, of Marlton, NJ, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 10, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of John A. Amos.  She was the devoted mother of four daughters: Beth Ann Haven Ferner (Ronald Ferner), Nancy Jean Haven Gervasi (Joseph Gervasi), Mimi Haven Wheeler, (Douglas Wheeler), and Amy Jo Haven-Reynolds (Edward Reynolds).  Jean was the cherished grandmother of Alexandra Christine Gervasi, Jackson Douglas Wheeler, Caroline Haven Wheeler, Matthew James Gervasi, James Clayton Wheeler, Evelyn Jean Reynolds, Audrey Haven Reynolds, and Lila Rae Reynolds.  She was the loving sister of Nancy Cairns Derby (Thomas Derby) and Lois Cairns Troutman (Martin Troutman).  She was the sister-in-law of Marianna Breyer (John Breyer) and brother-in-law of Donald Haven (Earlen Haven).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Jean was also the stepmother of Robin Lynn Van Buren (predeceased by Duane Van Buren), Barbara Sue Amos-Graves (predeceased by Brent Graves), and Peter Amos (Jennifer Amos) and granddaughters Brieanna Van Buren, Kaitie Van Buren, Amaris Amos Tangen (Erik Tangen), and Serena Amos and great grandson of Amaris and Erik Tangen, Carson. A special thank you from the family to Jean’s caregivers Ogo Greene and Amandalena Aristide.

Jean Ann Cairns was born April 10, 1939.  Jean graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1957 and attended nursing school at Presbyterian Hospital of Philadelphia, PA.  She was a successful Realtor for Prudential Fox and Roach Realtors in Haddonfield, NJ for over thirty years. She was predeceased by her parents, James Arthur Cairns and Ann Kennedy Thomson.  She was married on April 3, 1959, to H. Richard Haven, Jr. who predeceased her.  Jean married John Alvin Amos on April 18, 1987.  John and Jean enjoyed traveling over the years both on their own or with good friends.  John was Jean’s loving primary caregiver in recent years.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Haddon Heights Baptist Church, 300 Station Avenue, Haddon Heights, NJ. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM at the church.  The interment will be held at Lakeview Memorial Park, 1300 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, NJ.  Contributions in her name may be made to Options for Women, 1500 Kings Highway N., Unit 110, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 or at www.optionsnj.org.
