Vera Berry

Vera Berry (née Stroutinsky), born on March 21, 1977.  She just celebrated Her 45th Birthday.

On Wednesday April 6, 2022 at 8:24 am Vera took her last breath on this Earth in the loving arms of her beloved husband, Michael and then entered into the loving arms of Jesus.  Her 5 Children were also by her side.  Hours before, Vera was surrounded by all 3 families at her bedside.  Vera endured and fought a courageous 9 month battle against Stage 4 Colon/Liver Cancer.  Her Spirit was always sweet and positive and her faith remained strong in Jesus despite her constant daily pain.

Vera was a very smart girl having graduated from Villanova at the top of Her Class as Valedictorian.  I never knew that till she just recently shared that with me.  She also got to travel to other Countries, such as Germany and Greece and she got to see many wonderful sights.  But, Vera was quick to say that she did not want to boast about those things from her past.  What she wanted to be known for and be remembered for was her Love for God and her Trust in Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  Vera was a humble woman who adored her husband, Michael and raised her 5 Children in the ways of the Lord.  She led her children by example and daily taught them God’s Word.  She homeschooled all 5 Children.  She stood loyally by her husband’s side in their 17 Years of Marriage.  She helped run his business as his secretary, bookkeeper, and accountant. She worked closely by his side in all the chores of running their 3 1/2 acres of farmland.  She loved cooking and baking.  Vera truly was the example of the Proverbs 31 Woman.  She truly was a Gift from God for Michael, their children, and for both of her families that loved her dearly.  She will be greatly missed on Earth but we have the hope in Jesus that we will see her again someday.  She no longer is suffering.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Patrick Berry Jr., her firstborn son, Jasper (16), son Caleb (14), daughter Leah (12), son Asher (9), and daughter Khloe (6).  Her parents, Hanna and Alexander Stroutinsky her younger sister, Natalia (Steven) Sobotka and niece, Grace (6).  Her parents-in-law, Kathy and Michael Berry Sr., her sister-in-law Jessica (Erik) Bader, nieces, Juniper (18) and Magnolia (16), brother-in-law David Berry, brother-in-law Eric Berry, and sister-in-law Larissa Berry.  Also relatives on both families.

Please join us for a Memorial and Celebration of Vera’s Life on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Collingswood Bible Presbyterian Church, 1115 Haddon Avenue, Collingswood, NJ with Pastor Christian Spencer.  A luncheon will follow for all to attend in the Church’s Fellowship Hall.  An estimated headcount is appreciated if joining us for the luncheon.

One of Vera’s Favorite Bible Verses: “When Jesus heard that, he said, this sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.” John 11:4.
