Joseph R. Barber

On February 18, 2022, Joseph R. Barber, age 88 years, of Audubon, NJ, past away.  Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Mary E. Barber (nee Dennihy); devoted father of Mary Ann DuBois (Timothy), James J. Barber, Jeff R. Barber (Linda), Jonathan L. Barber, and April H. Barber; loving grandfather of Alexander (Lisa), Alicia (Sean), Spencer, Paige, and Dylan; and cherished great grandfather of Colin.  Joseph was predeceased by his sister, Shirley and brother, Bud.  He is also survived by his beloved friend Frieda Turner.

Joseph was a long time resident of Audubon and Sea Isle City.  He graduated from Audubon High School, Drexel college, and Wharton business school.  He worked for the US Government.  He also was the owner of B&J Raceway on Haddon Avenue in Westmont, NJ.  Joseph loved his beach walk every morning to watch the sunrise, and would go back later for a dip.  He loved shuffle board, VFW, and Happy Hour.  He shared stories of his uncle Connie, who owned the Barrington Airport.  He also loved his daily walk to John’s Friendly Market in Haddon Heights, NJ.  Most of all he loved his family and friends and will be sadly missed.

His visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 1100-1:00 PM at the DuBois Funeral Home, 700 South White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106.  Joseph’s funeral service will be at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  The Interment will be at Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ.  Contributions may be made to his joy, Trinity Community Church, 202 85th Street, Sea Isle City, NJ 08243, or to Logan Memorial Presbyterian Church, 18 West Merchant Street, Audubon, NJ 08106.  Condolences and memories may be shared at DuboisFuneralHome.
