Elizabeth B. Johnson

On December 28, 2021, Elizabeth B. Johnson (nee Williams), age 78 years, of Mount Laurel, NJ, entered into heaven’s glory.  She was the beloved wife of David A. Johnson for nearly 50 years.  Elizabeth was the loving mother of Kristyn J. Emenecker (Todd), Mark D. Johnson (Jessica), and Becky J. Johnson; cherished grandmother of Audrey, Olivia, Reif, Eden, and William; and loving sister of Frank E. Williams of Locust, NC.  She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elizabeth studied elementary education at Philadelphia College of Bible and received her Bachelors of Arts degree in education at the Glassboro State College.  After she received her degree in education she became an elementary school teacher in Wrightstown, NJ.  Elizabeth went on to teach at Kings Christian School in Haddon Heights, NJ, until marriage.  She then taught at The Christian Academy in Juliustown, NJ, and at Bethel Baptist Christian School in Cherry Hill, NJ.  She finished her teaching career in the two schools of the Barrington School District.  She was know for the love she had for her students and her encouragement to fellow teachers.  When asked why she did so much for her students and fellow teachers, she would often reply, “I do it for the Lord”.

She was a 20 year member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pemberton, NJ, where she was the principal pianist for her husband who directed the choir and led worship services.  She also taught children’s classes and led a group for teen-aged girls.  For nearly 30 years more, she was a member of Easton Bible Church, 2407 Fostertown Road, Hainesport, NJ 08036, where she taught children’s classes, was one of several pianists, sang in the choir, and played English hand bells.  She was involved with New Life Ministries, 1721 Haddon Avenue, Camden, NJ 08103 where she devoted her time, most Saturday Mornings, to relief evangelism, serving food in poor neighborhoods while others shared the good news of Jesus.

The visitation will take place on Monday, January 3, 2021, 5:30PM at Easton Bible Church, 2407 Fostertown Road, Hainesport, NJ 08036.  A memorial service will follow at 7:00PM.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.  The family has requested that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Easton Bible Church at the above address or New Covenant Ministry C/O Reverend Thomas Williams 3-B West Holly Avenue, Oaklyn, NJ 08107.  Funeral arrangements under the direction of DuBois Funeral Home, 700 South White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106.  Memories and condolences may be shared at DuboisFuneralHome.
