Raymond J. Amato

On October 21, 2021 Raymond J. Amato passed away.  He was the loving father of Jeana Foster (Gordon), Christian Amato (Lynn), and Cory Amato.  He was the cherished grandfather of Addison, Lilia, and Sebastian.  Raymond is also survived by his sister Bernadette Fitzpatrick (John) as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his son Raymond J. Amato and sister Arlene Amato.

Raymond was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Camden and the Holy Child Council #1209.  He enjoyed taking trips to the Jersey shore to go fishing and crabbing.  You could always find him tinkering with a fishing reel and was passionate about restoring antique watches.  As an avid Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, and Phillies fan, you would commonly see him in one of their jerseys with a soft pretzel or Tastykake in his hand.  Ray had a passion for cooking pasta, especially his famous spaghetti & crabs and his gravy which he referred to as “essence”.  As a loving grandfather he would always have candy and cookies for the kids and dog biscuits for the puppies.  He was always up for a Slurpee run or willing to share his meal with the dogs when people weren’t looking.  He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.

A Mass will be held on October 28, 2021 10:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3422 Dennison Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA. 19026.  The internment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, 626 Baily Road, Yeadon, PA 19050.  Funeral arrangements under the direction of DuBois Funeral Home, 700 South White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106.  Condolences and memories may be shared at DuboisFuneralHome
