Anita L. Delmar

On August 5, 2021, Anita (nee Messore), age 83 years, of Woodlynne, NJ passed away.  She was a loving wife of 58 years to the late August Delmar; devoted mother of Thomas Delmar, Anthony Delmar, both of Woodlynne NJ, and the late, Dominic Delmar; cherished daughter of Tomasso and Mariagrazia Messore; beloved sister of Teressa DeBellis (Mario), Antonio Messore (Rossina), and the late Lisette D’Allesandro (Antonio); and numerous nieces, nephews, and also many grand nieces and nephews, mostly in Italy.

She was born in Vallemaio, Italy during the most turbulent time of World War II to be a civilian.  Anita married and arrived to Camden, NJ and then moved to Woodlynne, NJ where she lived for 42 years.  She worked for DiPaolo in Camden, NJ as a seamstress, Penn Linen in Woodbury, NJ, and the Parkview Motel as a maid for 22 years.  Anita loved gardening and planting flowers throughout the front of the house and the backyard.  The property looked like an enchanted garden.  Gardening was her life and she especially loved growing figs.  She was a great cook and baker who loved to can tomatoes and was known for her homemade pizza, bread, and Christmas cookies.

The visitation will be held on Friday August 13, 2021 from 9:30-10:00 AM at the DuBois Funeral Home, 700 South White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106. Mass of the resurrection will be held at 10:30 AM at the Most Precious Blood Parish Transfiguration Church, 445 White Horse Pike, Collingswood, NJ 08107.  Entombment will take place at the New ST. Mary’s Cemetery, 515 West Browning Road, Bellmawr, NJ 08031.  Contributions may be made in her memory to the Most Precious Blood Parish Transfiguration Church.  Funeral arrangements under the direction of DuBois Funeral Home, 700 South White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106.  Condolences and memories may be shared at DuboisFuneralHome
