Albert R. Barr Jr.

Albert R. Barr Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep, at his home in Bear Creek, PA. in the early morning of July 19, 2021. 

Al is survived by his loving wife, Edith Barr (nee Stevens); his children, Rob (Valerie), Steve, Tim, and Laurie Tinker (Gregg); grandchildren, Austin Barr, Brittany Pickell (Steven), and Katelyn Burns (Ryan); and great grandchildren, Camryn, Cooper, Colton, and Cannon Pickell. He is also survived by his siblings, James Barr (Pat) and William Dougherty (Gloria). Al was predeceased by his other siblings, William, Florence, and Elizabeth, as well as his daughter in-law, Cindy Johnson-Barr.

Al served as Staff Sargent in the Army National Guard for 10 years. He worked at Kings Christian Schools for 25+ years. Al was also a long-time member of Easton Bible Church and held a position as a first responder with the Masonville Fire and Emergency Squad for 40+ years. He loved his Phillies, Eagles, NASCAR, and Boston Cream donuts.

He will always be remembered for his love of the Lord and family above all else, his genuine happy greetings and twinkling blue eyes, and for answering the phone, “Al’s Barr and Grill, how may I help you?”

In lieu of flowers and other gifts Al requested donations be made to “Drawn to Help”, a non-profit organization that takes cartoonists to visit children in hospitals. Drawn to Help was founded by his son Steve. Donations can be made at www.drawntohelp.org

Visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Easton Bible Church, 2407 Fostertown Road, Hainesport, NJ 08036, followed by a time of food and fellowship at the same location.
