Carole G. Lacy

The Lord called Carole home on March 15, 2021.  Carole Gene Hunt-Brinkman-Lacy was born on November 21, 1944.  She was a very loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.  Carole is already missed by her devoted, loving husband of 22 years, Keith Lacy; her sister and best friend, Wickie Hunt-Tomlin; her seven step brothers and sisters (Ivins); her sons, Eric (Gia), Hank (Peggy), Gene (Jody), and Jaysen Brinkman (Amy); her stepson, Curtis Lacy (Rebecca); her grandchildren, Cody James, Kassandra “KC”, Christopher “CJ”, Jaysen “Lil Jay”, Curtis, Justin, Jakob Brinkman, and Teddy Lacy (Josie); her great grandchildren, Penny Mae, Henry, Zoey, and Lila Brinkman; and her many other friends and extended family members.  

Carole talked fondly of her friends in Mt. Ephraim and her years at Audubon High School, of which she played catcher for their softball team and graduated in 1963.  She also performed for the Audubon all girl drum and bugle core, called the “Bon Bons”.  

At age 49, Carole furthered her education and proudly graduated from Wesley College with a degree in nursing, which she called her greatest accomplishment.  She loved medicine and helping people.  She volunteered with the Mt. Ephraim Ambulance Squad, was one of New Jersey’s first paramedics (long before they got paid) and worked as an RN in the ER in Delaware and South Carolina before retiring from Harbor Hospital in Baltimore. Carole also had many pets and loved all animals.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 26 from 10 to 11:00 AM at the DuBois Funeral Home, 700 South White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM.
