Meg Evans
Meg Evans left earth peacefully to be with God on November 2, 2020, at the age of 55, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends who will continue to honor her legacy by living life to the fullest with Meg’s love, intensity, and spirit each and every day.
Meg was born on April 26, 1965, in Norristown, PA as the youngest child of the late Ray and Sally Evans (Williams). Despite having older twin sisters and a rambunctious brother, Meg was very independent, outgoing, and loved life. She was not afraid of new challenges, even if they seemed difficult or unattainable. When life knocked Meg down, she picked herself up and forged forward. She was an extremely hard worker and approached each day with passion, optimism, and excellence.
Meg graduated Lenape High School in 1983 and decided to postpone her college career to start a job as an office assistant at the Hilton Hotel in Mount Laurel, NJ. This is where Meg found her purpose in life, the hospitality industry. Meg blossomed. She worked at many hotels throughout the United States and eventually found her way overseas where she lived and worked in countries all over the world such as Germany, Czech Republic, Jordan, and Israel just to name a few. She continued an upward trend of promotions and leadership roles and eventually held senior positions such as Director and Vice President of Sales and Marketing with several major hotel groups such as Marriott International and Minor Hotel Group. Meg was a natural leader and took pride in her ability to engage and mentor her teams, colleagues, and customers. Meg was extremely well known and respected in her profession for her expertise and ability to achieve results.
Meg spent most of her life living and working abroad and visited more than 85 different countries. She loved many different areas she visited and ultimately lived the past 15 years in Thailand, which she truly considered home. Here is where the simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Meg. Some of her favorites were cooking new recipes at home, a day at the spa, enjoying a glass of wine with friends, and spending time with the love of her life (her rescue dog, Chedi). But Meg’s favorite way to relax was well known, she loved working on her year-round tan at the pool with a good book and a Diet Coke in hand.
Meg genuinely loved her family, especially her many nieces and nephews – they were her true heart and joy. There is no denying that “her kids” as she called them, were her priority and she treated them all like they were her own. She loved them and mentored them to be better people. Meg taught them the many skills and attributes that made her so successful in life. Meg always made sure she returned to the United States every year for Christmas with her family. She had many traditions during her Christmas visits, but she particularly looked forward to Cookie Day, dinner with family and friends at Captain Cats, and of course Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with her family and friends.
To know Meg, was to love her. No one was more passionate, fun-loving, selfless, or stubborn. She was the warmth and sunshine she emanated to her family and friends. Meg made a powerful and impactful impression on everyone she met and touched their lives forever. From the time Meg was a young child she had a love for sunflowers. Meg’s lasting footprint is in the shape of a sunflower and her friends, family, and loved ones will constantly be reminded of its beauty and Meg’s love, until they meet her again in heaven.
Meg is survived by her twin sisters, Amy Quinton (Kip) and Beth Evans-Crosby; her brother, Todd Evans (Fran); nieces and nephews, Bryan Crosby, Phil Crosby, Andrew Quinton, Ian Crosby Jr., Gabrielle Quinton, Adam Quinton, Evan Crosby, Ethan Crosby, Emlyn Crosby, Braden Evans, and Gabrielle Karam. Meg is predeceased by her parents, Ray and Sally Evans (Williams); brother-in-law, (Ian Crosby); her grandparents and many Aunts and Uncles.
