Patricia Judy Gottshall

Patricia Judy Gottshall (Judy) 79, of Woodbury Passed away on April 20th 2020 in Woodbury

Judy is survived by her two sons; Lewis “Chip” (Bridget) and Daniel (Cheryl). Mary Dodaro and her children, Mark and Judy. Grandchildren; Heather, Lewis, Marcella, Calvin, and Jacob. Brothers and sisters; Bonnie, Carol, John, Don, Connie, Dot, and Flossie.

Judy was born to Vernon and Patricia Brooks on November 15th 1940. She married Luke on November 18th 1961. Judy worked as a waitress, bookkeeper, receptionist, and nearly everything else over the years. In retirement Judy and Luke traveled about, mostly enjoying the Amish areas of Pennsylvania. It was in 1993 that they started the “Senior Welcome Line” as a Christian ministry. They would reach out to seniors to encourage them to meet regularly together, develop friendships, and more. The Senior Welcome Line played a huge role in Judy’s life even after Luke’s passing in 2006. Her efforts to bring seniors together were richly rewarding for Judy and everyone involved. God used Judy to build beautiful bonds that only He could have created.

Her real passion was the piano. She loved to play for the seniors and minister to elderly shut-ins. She would play, sing, share scripture, do crafts, and puzzles with folks at many places. If she found a piano or organ anywhere, look out, she was a rock star! She became famous as the “scooter lady”. Judy would scoot about everywhere on her Amish scooter and go for miles delivering free vegetables and fruit to anyone she could. She made it a personal goal to bless others and make a new friend every day, glorifying her Savior as she went.

A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery with Pastor Joe Lightfoot of Southwood Baptist, officiating. Judy will be laid to rest next to her late husband Luther P. Gottshall.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Southwood Baptist Church at 11 Griscom Lane West Deptford, NJ 08096. Funeral arrangements are made by Wallace P. DuBois of DuBois Funeral Home, 700 South White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106. Condolences may be shared at DuboisFuneralHome
