William B. Scherer

On June 8th, 2019, William B. Scherer, age 87 years, of Mt. Ephraim, passed away, surrounded by his family, and friends. Beloved husband of Dolores Scherer,( nee Rey), of Mt. Ephraim,NJ. Devoted father of Michelle Scherer, Dolores Veigel, Jacqueline Scherer, and Janet Scherer. Also survived by his stepchildren, Patricia, and William Scherer. Loving brother of Phillip Scherer, Manuel Scherer, Stella Frey, Theresa Abbruzzi, Joseph Scherer, Rebecca Jane Varnis, Benny Scherer, Eddy Yeager, and BuddyYeager. Cherished grandfather of Julia Lilly, Jacob W. Franco, Zachary W. Veigel, Emma Lilly, and Jolene E. Rowatti. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Scherer was a bus driver for Septa Bus Company for over twenty five Years, and a member of Transit Workers Union Local 234. He served in the US Army as a Staff Sgt. in the Korean War. He was a loving, caring, nurturing, hard worker, who provided for all the people in his life. He was very athletic, and he played as a pitcher for the Septa Softball League. He enjoyed bowling. He loved to tell stories, and play jokes on his grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday June 13th, 2019 from 10:00-11:00AM at the DuBois Funeral Home, 700 S. White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, 235 Matsonford Road, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
