Hortense M. Hall
Hortense Melissa “Millie” Hall (nee Wright) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 12, 2016, losing her long battle with Alzheimer’s disease but gaining Heaven. Longtime resident of Audubon, NJ, age 94. Loving mother of Thomas J. Hall and Susan Hall-Stutz (Scott). Sister of Nellie A. Eppenstine (nee Wright). Grandmother of Stephanie Renee Hall and Timothy Noah Stutz. Predeceased by her brother, John B. Wright, and her husband of almost 74 years, Joseph N. Hall. She will be sorely missed.
Mrs. Hall was a dedicated, loyal wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. She cared much for those in need, always putting others first, evident in her other roles as a pre-school teacher, Sunday school teacher, and church youth group leader. Her support to her husband secured his success as an elder of several area churches, including the Bible Presbyterian Church of Collingswood, in his business as a widely respected heating and air conditioning expert, and also as a U.S. Army infantryman in WWII’s European Campaign. She was the wind beneath her children’s wings. She simultaneously and singlehandedly cared for her mother and mother-in-law in her own home until each passed. Besides her family and church, she enjoyed gardening, houseplants, animals of all sorts, painting and drawing beautiful pictures, and playing her piano. Above all, her life was a wonderful Christian example for others in how she lived.
Viewing will be Wednesday, May 18, 2016, 10:00-11:30am at the DuBois Funeral Home, 700 S. White Horse Pike, Audubon. Service following at 11:30am. Interment will take place in Brig. Gen. Wm C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown. The family request donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
